South Australian (SA) Water Industry Training Courses

The Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) is committed to strengthening technical and safety skills across South Australia's water sector. In partnership with the Queensland Water Directorate (qldwater), OTR facilitates access to watertraining.com.au, providing tailored online learning for water professionals in SA.

The first course - SA Brown Card training - was developed in consultation with local regulators to align with South Australian legislative requirements. Following a statewide ‘training needs’ survey in March 2025, OTR is now trialling three new online courses, available free of charge until 30 June 2026:

  • Water Chemistry
  • Water Calculations
  • Intro to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) 

These courses are open to SA water entities and their approved contractors.

Additionally, OTR is in the process of developing a course on Risk Management.
